Computer-Based Training vs. Web-Based Training

Web-based training (WBT), also referred to as online training, is delivered via the Internet and therefore:

  • Is available anywhere there is Internet access.
  • Allows for immediate distribution of updates.
  • Ensures outdated training is no longer available.
  • Enables learning activity to be automatically documented.
  • Provides extensive control over who can access the training.

Computer-based training (CBT) is delivered via CD or specific workstations and therefore:

  • Can be accessed by users without Internet access.
  • Can deliver huge volumes of media rich content without requiring extensive bandwidth.

LeanForward works with clients to determine which method is appropriate given their unique situation.
