Role Play Scenarios

LeanForward’s role play scenarios immerse learners into realistic situations and require them to navigate through the scenario as they would in real life.  This provides the learner with experiential learning by enabling them to exercise their knowledge and decision making abilities in a safe and supportive environment.  To maximize the learning value, users are also provided with instructional guidance as they progress through the exercise.

LeanForward’s role play exercises also provide users with instructional resources to aid them in their decision making. Learners may be able to access background information, reference material or even guidance from a boss, peer or coach.   Role play scenarios are particularly effective in teaching soft skills such as sales, customer service, leadership or interpersonal communications.

As an example, a sales prospecting simulation would place the learner into a realistic sales situation and require them to navigate through a simulated sales call.  In this case, learners would be prompted to make decisions about how to approach and interact with a prospect.  When a decision is made, feedback would be provided in the form of a positive or negative response from the client.  Users would also receive instructional feedback on what they did right, what they did wrong and how they can improve.  The learner may also be given access to additional instructional resources such as a “coach” to provide guidance if needed.  Such role play scenarios provide learners with valuable experience about how their actions will impact their sales performance in the real world.
